Test results have shown that, apart from a few exceptions, the dual mass flywheels involved in complaints are determined to be in proper working order.
Important:
A test of a DMF must only take place if a complaint has been received concerning transmission noises (rattling, knocking) in the operational or driving conditions stated above.
Procedure:
Assessment of DMFs involved in complaints:
The twist test on the DMF shown must be carried out by hand and without any tools. The test can be carried out in installed or removed status. (In removed status. a second person is required to counter hold).
The twist distance must be measured at the external diameter of the DMF (Figure 1, arrow).
