Concern:
Noises in the area of the passenger compartment. Left or Right A-pillar trim.

Information:
This is a supplement to the Technical Information Group7, No.1/00 dated 6-3-2000 ,"Noises in the dashboard area"

Complaint:
Creaking and/or crackling noises on the A-pillar trim in the windshield area on the left and right hand side.





Cause:
The front tips of the A-pillar trim are touching the bottom of the windshield (arrows, figure 1).

Repair:
1. Remove the A-pillar trim.

2. Stick a 10 mm wide felt strip onto the A-pillar trim above the lower edge (arrow, figure 2.)

3. Reinstall the A-pillar trim.

Note:
Make sure the felt tape is not visible when the trim is reinstalled.
