Concern:

Windshield wiper relay causes intermittent windshield wiper function to be a fixed interval, and not a variable interval.

Information:

It is possible that some 911 Carreras may be equipped with a windshield wiper interval relay which has a fixed timing interval (as in the Boxster), and not an adjustable timing interval for the intermittent wiper function. If so equipped, the interval wipers on the 911 Carrera will not be infinitely adjustable. Please check all vehicles in inventory, or that enter the workshop for proper wiper function.

The following VIN ranges may be affected:

99 5XS 62 3241 to 99 8XS 62 3315 Coupe

99 2XS 65 1250 to 99 3XS 65 1404 Cabriolet

If a 911 Carrera is found not to have infinitely adjustable interval wipers, the windshield wiper relay must be replaced. The relay carrier is located just above the fuse carrier in relay position number 16.
