Roof Module Frame




Replacing Roof Module Frame







The replacement roof module frame is not a complete roof module. The following procedures must be carried out before installation.
- Remove new roof module from the packaging and assemble onto the retaining frame, refer to "Tools and materials" and the transmission jack, refer to "Tools and materials".
- Remove the roof module frame to be replaced from the vehicle. Refer to "Removing roof module".

1 - Installing rear windscreen wiper motor
- Refer to Installing rear windscreen wiper motor
2 - Installing control module
- Refer to "Installing control module"
3 - Installing closing aid
- Refer to "Installing closing aid"
4 - Installing draught deflector
- Refer to "Installing draught deflector"







5 - Assembling mount at the front left and right

NOTE: The increased collar -arrow- of the sliding block must always face upwards.

1. Insert the sliding block -2- into the mounting plate -1-. Insert mount slide -3- into the sliding block -2-.

6 - Installing frame for sliding roof cover

7 - Installing electric motor for sun blind
- Refer to "Installing left electric motor for sliding roof"
- Refer to "Installing right electric motor for sliding roof"







8 - Installing lid hinge
- Position lid hinge -4- on roof module frame and tighten with fastening nuts -5-.







9 - Installing seal for cover of rear window
- Push seal -6- all the way round the flange of the roof module.







10 - Installing seal for the centre joint
- Insert seal for the centre joint -7- into the module frame in -direction of arrow-. The seal must connect on the left and right so that it is flush.







11 - Sticking on Nito tape
- Stick the Nito tape all the way round the roof module starting from the centering pegs at the front. Refer to "Tools and materials"
12 - Installing roof module

13 - Installing cover for sliding roof

14 - Installing electric motor for sun blind
- Refer to "Installing electric motor for sun blind"
15 - Installing rear window cover
- Refer to "Installing rear window cover"
16 - Setting the microswitch of the sliding roof > closed <

17 - Setting closing aid
1. Refer to "Position of closing aid"
2. Refer to "Initialisation of the closing aid"
18 - Functional inspection
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the diagnostic socket. Switch ignition on.
2. Select menu item Targa roof, select menu item actuators, actuate open/close function or actuate rear cover function.
3. Read out fault memory. If necessary, proceed according to; refer to Targa roof diagnosis in the case of an error entry.
