Cleaning The Engine

Concern:
Damage to the alternator when cleaning the engine.

Information:
Tests of non-functioning alternators by the manufacturer have shown that a majority of failures were caused by forced water entry. Damage to the alternator will occur if it is pressure washed while you are cleaning the engine.

A direct stream of water should never be directly sprayed at the alternator.

Please cover the alternator with a plastic sheet (or something similar) when washing the engine. Remember to remove the sheet after the wash!
