A208 - Check Injection Valve

Attention:
Sales Manager, Service Manager, Parts Manager, Porsche Technician

This is to inform you of a voluntary Customer Campaign involving a certain range of model year 2000 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera 4 vehicles.

Porsche AG, the manufacturer, initiated a voluntary Customer Campaign involving certain 911 (996) vehicles that may have had an engine installed with incorrect injection valves.

As a result, it is possible that the owner could experience difficulties during cold-starts and the warm-up phase. In order to avoid a potential condition, a check must be performed as to whether or not the correct injection valves have been installed in the engines. If required, the injection valve-sets must be replaced."

A total of 107 U.S. and 8 Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Customer Campaign.

Very Important!
Not every vehicle in the below range listing may be affected. Use the ranges below as a general guideline.

Refer to attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this customer campaign.

Alternatively, the VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open campaign (or service action). Also, the VIN can be checked via the VRU (Voice Response System) for any open listing.

The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the VIN-Ranges shown.

Customer Notification:

Porsche Cars North America, Inc., will notify All Owners of affected vehicles by First Class Mail during the week of March 24, 2003. See enclosed copy of the Recall Notification card to the Porsche Owner. A listing of affected VINs (with owner name and addresses) will be sent to you.
