7.7.1 - Bleeding the Coolant Circuit

The pneumatically actuated coolant shut-off valve must be opened in order to bleed the coolant circuit. To do this, the electric switch-over valve (KWA) must be switched off on the Tiptronic side. In normal operation, this happens when the ignition is switched on or when the engine is running. The switch-over valve is also switched off at a high engine temperature > approx. 85°C or a high ATF temperature > approx. 90°C
The switch-over valve is actuated with this test in diagnostic mode. Actuation is active only as long as the control module remains in the diagnostic mode.
