Complaint 9:
Rattling from the area of the rear side section trim with the convertible top open during driving on the left or right hand sides.





Cause:
Rattling noises caused by movements of the roof frame 2 in the take-up flange (arrow, figure 13).

Repair:
Remove the rear side section trim panel. See 911 Carrera (996) Technical Manual, Group 7, page 70-45ff. Stick a 25 x 75 mm felt strip into the take-up flange U-profile (arrow, figure 14). Reinstall the side trim.
