Information:
Beginning in model year 2002 (2), the new Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system will be standard equipment on the 911 GT2 (996). The new brake system is installed in production as of VIN number:
99 82S 69 6061
Listed below is a brief overview of the modified parts of the PCCB system:
Front Axle:
- Ceramic brake discs (diameter 350 mm).
- Brake pads for ceramic brake discs.
- Larger opening in the brake disc cover panels for improved cooling.
- Enlarged air guide on the front axle control arms.
Rear Axle:
- Ceramic brake discs (diameter 350 mm).
- 4-piston monobloc brake caliper (adapted to the brake disc diameter of 350 mm).
- Brake pads for ceramic brake discs.
- Larger opening in the brake disc cover panels for improved cooling.
- Additional air guide on the rear axle control arms.
