GT2 Rear Brake Air Guides

Vehicle Type:
911 GT2 (996)

Model Year:
MY 2002 (2)

Concerns:
Rear axle: - Brake air guide for PCCB.

Information:

Extensive investigations have shown that brake cooling on the rear axle is not impaired if the additional spoiler (rubber lip) previously attached to the brake air guide is no longer installed.

As of 27th May, the additional spoilers for the brake air guide will be omitted on the rear axle of the GT2.

In contrast to the previously published documents in the Technical Manual (Technical Information or Repairs) and in the Driver's Manual, a damaged additional spoiler on the brake air guide on the rear axle need no longer be replaced. If an additional spoiler on one side of the vehicle is damaged, we recommend removing the functional additional spoiler on the other side.

It is also permissible to remove the two additional spoilers attached to the brake air guide when working on a raised vehicle.
