Transport Lock In Roll-over Protection System Of The 911 Carrera Cabriolet As Of Model Year 2002

NOTE: The transport lock in the roll-over protection system is activated in production to protect the vehicle during delivery transport. The warning light in the instrument cluster lights up. The message '"Roll-over protection faulty" is also displayed in the central display of the "Kombi2000".

- Before starting the vehicle for the first time, the transport lock for the roll-over bar must be deactivated in order to ensure that the system functions.

WARNING:
- Risk of system failure if the following steps are not performed correctly.
- In serious cases, the system will not be actuated.
- The warning light in the instrument panel and the message "Roll-over protection faulty" in the central display must go out after deactivating the transport lock.
- After deactivating the transport lock (menu "Special functions", Menu "Vehicle hand-over") with the Porsche System Tester, the system must be checked once more for entered faults.


The procedure for deactivating the transport lock for the roll-over protection:
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester 2 to the vehicle and switch on the ignition.
2. Select "Special functions" in the Vehicle type menu.
3. In the menu "Control units", select "Vehicle hand-over". Proceed with the [>>] key. The following information text appears: "Different systems in the dialog with the user are activated with this function. At the same time, a vehicle hand-over protocol of the individual functions is created."
4. Proceed with [>>] and start function with [F8] key. Further procedure as displayed in tester display.
5. If the function "Vehicle hand-over" has ended, return to start menu, read out control module once more and check for faults.
