Concern:
Roof Rail, Option I No. 3S7 - Installation Instructions. Cannot be installed on vehicles with Roof Transport System - I No. 3S8
Information:
One roof rail (material: aluminium; paint: satin aluminium) can be installed in each of the two guide rails on the vehicle roof. The roof rail is elegantly integrated into the vehicle design, and can carry a maximum load of 165 lbs (75 kg). Bulky items can be transported using additional cross members.
The roof rail is available under the option, I No. "3S7", and is also available as optional equipment when ordering a new vehicle.
Note:
Due to the curing time of the microencapsulated M10 x 16 locking screws contained in the brackets, the roof rail should not be used for a period of 24 hours, to allow sufficient time for the adhesive on the locking screws to fully cure.
If the roof rail must be removed from the roof for any reason, new lock screws, part number, 955 559 381 00 must be used!

Warnings:
Danger
Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users) - due to loss of the roof rail.
> Check roof rail from time to time to ensure that it is seated properly and securely on the vehicle roof.
Danger
Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users) - due to change in handling (higher center of gravity and larger area exposed to the wind) of the vehicle with loaded roof rail.
> Adapt driving style accordingly.
> If the add-on modules are not in use, it should be completely removed from the vehicle in the interest of driving comfort (noise level) and fuel economy.
Danger
Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users) - as a result of improper loading of the roof rail and/or add-on modules.
> Load the roof rail and / or add-on modules so that the load does not project beyond the sides of the Roof Transport System.
> Leave room between add-on modules to assure that they do not bump against each other while the vehicle is underway.
> Secure load properly to prevent it from shifting while the vehicle is underway. Observe the max. load of 165 lbs 75 kg for the roof rail (see also the vehicle Owner's Manual).
Caution
Damage to the vehicle or the roof rail - due to non-observance of the total height of the vehicle.
> Observe total height of vehicle when entering parking garages and tunnels, etc. Completely remove roof rail modules from the vehicle which are not in use.
Caution
Damage to the vehicle roof and/or roof rail - due to improper installation of roof rail, the add-on modules, or improper transport of loads.
> If necessary, position the roof rail on the brackets with the help of a second person.
> Use only add-on modules approved by Porsche.
> Only transport loads with suitable add-on modules for the roof rail.
> Use correct tightening torques.
Please inform the customer of these warnings accordingly.
