Concern:
The air-conditioning regulator (climate control head) will not display the 12-hour mode.

Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Service Action on certain 2003 and 2004 model year Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo vehicles. The air-conditioning regulator will not change from the 24-hour to 12-hour format after selecting 12 hour format in the instrument cluster. This is due to faulty software in the air-conditioning regulator.

Therefore, we ask that the affected vehicles listed below have their air-conditioning regulator replaced during the Porsche Owner's next visit to your workshop.

Affected Vehicles:
A total of 1043 U.S. and 82 Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Service Action.

Very Important! Not every vehicle in the below listed range may be affected. Use the ranges below as a general guideline


























Refer to Attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this service action. Alternatively, the VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open service action.





The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the VIN-Ranges shown.

Two slotted screwdrivers (medium)
Porsche System Tester Two (PST2)

Work Procedure:
Replacing glove compartment latch.

1. Remove the air-conditioning regulator and replace with a new air-conditioning regulator with updated software according to the Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 8, Chapter 87 02 19.

2. Code the new air-conditioning regulator according to the Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 8, Chapter 70 22 19.

3. Enter campaign into Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
