Information:
Replacement/reconditioned engines without breather hose
INFORMATION: If the engine in a vehicle is replaced with a replacement or reconditioned engine, the coolant breather hose between the coolant reservoir and oil/water heat exchanger must remain installed on the vehicle.
Work Procedure:
1 The breather hose must be removed at the heat exchanger (--> Figure 1 -item A-) after the engine is removed from the vehicle.
2 The removed breather hose must be reinstalled on the new engine (replacement or reconditioned engine), which will be installed in the vehicle.
If the new engine comes pre-fitted with a breather hose, this must be replaced with the removed breather hose.
