CD Changer CDC-4 Installation Instructions. Only for vehicles with Bose (I No. 680) or Harmann (I No. 490) sound system.

Information:





The vehicle equipment must first be verified and taken into consideration before ordering parts! In addition to the set "CD changer CDC-4", the optical wave-guide (optical wave-guide) must be ordered! The optical wave-guide is dependent on drive version (rear or four-wheel drive)

Warning!
Risk of short circuit and fire - due to work on vehicle electrical system.

> When working on the electrical system, the battery must be disconnected and covered.

> Always route the electrical leads without tension stress and to insure that no chafing occurs and secure to existing lines/components with tie-wraps/electrical tape.

Caution!
Damage to optical wave-guide - due to incorrect installation or disregarding the requirements for handling the optical wave-guide.

> Do not use tools to connect or disconnect plug connections!

> Maximum permissible tension load: Do not exceed 60 N!

> Do not go below minimum bending radius of 25 mm after and during installation in the vehicle!

> Do not exceed maximum number of 10 twists per meter!

> Observe all instructions for when working with optical wave-guide according to Technical Manual, Group 9, Serv. No. 9768!

Caution!
Damage to components in the area around the drilling - by the chuck or drill bit.

> Mask drilling area and use a power drill with bit stop.

> Only work (drill) in this area with great care.

Notes:
Retrofitting is described for a vertical installation (rear wheel drive), proceed accordingly when working with horizontal installation (four-wheel drive). The CD changer is adjusted by the manufacturer for vertical installation. If installation should be horizontal (four wheel drive), the adjustment must be manually changed on the device in order to assure that CDs will be played optimally on uneven streets, as an example.
