Troubleshooting with no control unit connected

The following text is displayed in the 9588 Porsche System Tester II:

Communication problem with the control unit.
- Restore connection by pressing [>>]
- Abort with [ESC]

NOTE: The driver's memory seat adjustment control unit is not connected directly to the diagnostic socket (16-pin, driver's footwell). Communication between the driver's memory seat adjustment control unit and the 9588 Porsche System Tester II only takes place indirectly via 'CAN comfort Gateway K lead.

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Fuses for 'driver's memory seat adjustment control unit' are OK.
- Fuses for 'gateway' in instrument cluster are OK.
- Plug on 'driver's memory seat adjustment control unit' connected correctly.
- Battery voltage is OK.
- The 9588 Porsche System Tester II is functional.

NOTE: The function of the 9588 Porsche System Tester II and the 9588/ 5 diagnosis lead can be checked on another vehicle.

Possible causes of fault
- An incorrect vehicle type was selected on the 9588 Porsche System Tester II.
- The 9588 Porsche System Tester II is not connected correctly or is faulty.
- Voltage supply to driver's memory seat adjustment control unit is not OK.
- 'K lead' to 'gateway' in instrument cluster does not function.
- 'Gateway' in instrument cluster does not function.
- 'CAN drive' does not function.
- 'Driver's memory seat adjustment control unit' does not function.

Memory seat adjustment control unit, driver's: Connector G
- Pin 3 'CAN bus high [CAN comfort (high)]'
- Pin 4 'CAN bus low [CAN comfort (low)]'
