Removing and Installing Evaporator







Removing the Evaporator

Removing the electrical wire for the heater/ A/C unit







- Remove heater/ A/C unit.







Removing the fan housing







1. Unscrew the two fastening screws and remove cover for the particle filter.







2. Pull out filter downwards.







3. Unscrew the 6 fastening screws -2- for the fan housing. Support housing.







4. Raise both retaining clips and remove the fan housing.

Disassembling heater/ A/C unit















1. Unscrew both fastening screws on the right heat exchanger cover, unclip and remove the cover.







2. Turn retaining pin out of the latch -1- and pull out -2-.

NOTE:
- There is a retaining pin on the left side underneath the heat exchanger which joins the lower holding tray (where the heat exchanger is located) to the air conditioning unit.
- As soon as the retaining pin has been pulled out, the heat exchanger with the holding tray can be folded down.







3. Raise the retaining clips in -6-, -7- and -8- -arrow- and remove upper half of housing.
4. Remove evaporator -P-.

NOTE: Depending on the condition and reasons for replacing the evaporator, unscrew the expansion valve.

Installing the Evaporator

Assembling heater/ A/C unit







NOTE:
- Make sure that the seal -Q- is not damaged. If in doubt, replace.
- Mount the expansion valve. Refer to tightening torques.

1. Insert the evaporator -P- into the upper half of the housing.
2. Place the upper half of the housing, press it on, and make sure that all three retaining clips engage.







3. Insert heat exchanger into housing and lift up the holding tray, slide the retaining pin through the guide -2- and lock the retaining pin into the holding tray -1-.







4. Clip right cover and secure with the fastening screws -3-. Refer to tightening torques.










Mounting the fan housing







1. Place the housing from the fan on the heating/air-conditioning unit housing and press on. Both retaining clips must engage -arrow-.







2. Screw in the 6 fastening screws -2- and tighten. Refer to tightening torques.







3. Position filter from underneath and carefully push it into the heating unit.
4. Engage cover -A- and screw in the fastening screws -B-. Refer to tightening torques.
