Porsche Stability Management (PSM)



Fault Code 2349

Parking Brake Switch

Diagnostic conditions
Internal function test: The PSM control unit initially tests internal function sequences when the ignition is switched on (terminal 15). If they are OK, all diagnosable outputs are then tested and any faults are stored.
- Switch on ignition
- Actuate (depress) parking brake and then release it again

Possible cause of fault
- Implausible signal: 'Fuse 51' in fuse carrier in the left side of the dashboard is faulty
- Implausible signal: Short circuit to B+ in the line from the PSM control unit to the parking brake switch
- Implausible signal: Short circuit to ground in the line from the PSM control unit to the parking brake switch
- Implausible signal: Open circuit in the parking brake switch input/output line
- Implausible signal: Parking brake switch faulty
- Implausible signal: Control unit faulty

Affected pins

PSM control unit connector:
- Pin 41 'parking brake switch'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting PSM

NOTE: Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected pins on the PSM control unit plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded. The wiring and connectors of the affected components must also be checked for external damage and correct contacts. Repair damaged or corroded pins if possible, otherwise replace affected pins. Repair or replace damaged wires.
