Removing And Installing Headlight Mounting Point
NOTE:
- The main headlights have been fitted into the body at the factory.
- Adjustment is only necessary in this area after damage (e.g., an accident).
Removing Headlight Mount
Remove the front wheel housing liners.
Remove front bumper.
Remove the headlights.
1. Remove the four fastening screws and then the mounting point.
Installing And Adjusting Headlight Mounting Point
1. Place the mounting point for the headlights and screw in both front fastening screws "1" - do not screw them down.
2. Insert and lock headlights.
3. Grasp on the front under the mounting point for the headlights and measure the gap "arrow". Setpoint, gap = 3 mm.
4. If necessary, turn the mounting point into position on the left or right front banjo bolt "A".
"A" Banjo bolt for adjusting the height on the mount.
"B" Headlight mount.
"C" Vehicle body.
WARNING: Risk of damage: The mounting point for the headlights must not be installed under strain due to, e.g., insufficient adjustment of the banjo bolt "A".
5. Remove the headlights and twist the rear banjo bolts "A" until the stop.
6. Screw in the rear fastening screws "2".
7. Install the headlights and check the gap of 3 mm at three points "arrow".
8. First tighten the front two screws, then tighten the two rear fastening screws. Refer to 'Tightening torques'
9. Remove and install the headlights at least 3 times, check the gap each time, and readjust the mounting point as necessary.
WARNING: Risk of damage: When adjusting the headlights in the X direction for retrofitting, it is extremely important that all 4 banjo bolts are tightened uniformly to prevent putting the headlights under strain.
Adjusting:
10. Loosen the fastening screw and turn the banjo bolt "A".
11. Install the headlights and check the gap.
Install front bumper.
Install the wheel housing liner.
Tightening Torques
