Safety Notes for Work on Body Glass
Danger of injury when working on body glass
DANGER:
Danger of cut injuries when removing and installing body glass.
- Cutting out glued body glass may lead to cut injuries to the skin and the eyes due to flying glass splinters and may cause cut injuries due to the blade of the cutter.
- Always wear protective gloves when working on body glass.
- Wear protective goggles when cutting out body glass.
- Only replace the cutting blade with the power supply disconnected, in order to avoid the cutter being switched on accidentally.
Material damage when removing the glass from body glass
CAUTION:
Danger of paint damage and damage to the label with the vehicle identification number if windshield is removed incorrectly.
- When cutting out the windshield, ensure that the label with the vehicle identification number is not damaged.
Material damage when inserting the glass into body glass
CAUTION:
Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed.
- The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to:
- Curing time: 3 hours
- Temperature: at least 10 °C
- Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Safety notes for airbag system
CAUTION:
Danger of injury due to unintentional activation of airbag units.
- The ground strap of the battery must be disconnected during work on the airbag system and alignment bench jobs within the scope of body repair.
- After the battery is disconnected, assembly work or work on the vehicle with a hammer or similar tools may not be started until after a waiting period of 1 minute.
Safety notes for sliding roof
CAUTION:
Danger of damage to the seats during the removal and fitting of the sliding roof frame.
- Fold the rear seat assembly forward and tip the front seat backrest backwards during the removal and fitting of the sliding roof frame.
