Removing And Installing Wiper Arm
WARNING: Danger of injury:
- During work on the wiper, the ignition must be switched off and the ignition key removed.
- Activate wipers once (flick wiping) so that wiper arms are in the normal position.
NOTE: The wiper system is deactivated if the bonnet is open. The wipers are only reactivated once the bonnet has been closed and the wiper system has been switched off and on again.
Removing Wiper Arms
1. Open the bonnet and remove the cover cap "1".
2. Unscrew fastening nuts "2" and "3" and remove washer "2a" and ring "2b".
- Have a second person lift the bonnet, disengage the bonnet shock absorber and hold up the bonnet.
3. Use a pull-off device to remove the wiper arms from the wiper link and remove the wiper arms.
- Re-engage the bonnet shock absorber and fix in place.
Installing Wiper Arms
1. Mount the wiper arms on the wiper link.
2. The wipers must be positioned at particular points on the windscreen. Priority 1 is assigned to the wiper on the driver's side with points "C" and "D". Then set the wiper on the passenger's side to points "A" and "B".
3. Mount washer "2a" and ring "2b". Screw on the fastening screws "2" and "3" and tighten them. Refer to 'Tightening torques'
4. Close the bonnet.
5. Operate the flick wiping action and check the position of the wiper arms again.
6. Open the bonnet.
7. Press on the cover cap "1".
