Removing And Installing Wiper Motor For Rear-window Wiper System







CAUTION: Danger of injury: Before removing the wiper motor, remove the ignition key and move the wiper switch on the steering column switch to Windscreen wiper off.

Removing Wiper Motor For Rear-window Wiper System
Remove covering for the rear panel trim.







1. Unclip the cover cap "1" at the side and remove it.
2. Unscrew fastening nut "2".
3. Swivel wiper arm "3" up and down a little and remove it.
4. Unscrew fastening nut "4".







5. Unplug the electrical connection and remove the three fastening screws "5". Remove the wiper motor.

Installing Wiper Motor For Rear-window Wiper System

NOTE:
- The rear-window wiper motor can only be fitted and adjusted once the rear window module and lock have been adjusted. This applies if the rear window module has been removed and reinstalled.
- Make sure that the spring pin engages in the drive plate.
- Plug in the electrical connection on the wiper motor and let the motor run fully once.







1. Position the rear-window wiper motor on the wiper motor reinforcement studs (bodyshell).







2. Guide centering tool, Torx screwdriver T25 "6" through the hollowed-out axle in the wiper motor, insert it into the bore of the wiper shaft and crank and hold it to ensure that the axles are aligned with one another.
3. "A" Correct setting.
4. "B" Incorrect setting.

NOTE: Insert the centering tool as far as it will go in the bore of the wiper shaft and crank.

5. Position the fastening nuts "5" and tighten them. Refer to 'Torques'
6. Pull out the centering tool.

NOTE:
- Watch out for a change in position of the rear wiper motor, if necessary repeat the centering process.
- In the event of a readjustment or if the rear window, rear lid or rear wiper motor is replaced, the rear-window wiper system must be readjusted.
- If the rear lid trim is adapted, the rear-window wiper motor must not moved out of its correct setting for the benefit of the gap on the trim (function before appearance).







7. Screw on the fastening nuts "4" and tighten them.
8. Activate the wiper motor once. Then mount the wiper switch "3" and secure with the fastening nut "2". Refer to 'Torques'
9. Mount the cover cap "1" and press it in until it clicks into place.

Install covering for the rear panel trim.
