The PCM2.1 logbook supports the driver in maintaining a logbook by recording all relevant data for the type of trip (private, business), much of it automatically, and reducing user input to a minimum. PCM2.1 automatically records every trip > 60 miles/100 kilometers. Trip recording starts as soon as the key is instead into the ignition and ends when it is removed. PCM2.1 will automatically record the following data:
- Date/time of departure and arrival
- Mileage at the start and end of the journey
- Start and destination address (location, street, country)
- GPS Coordinates for business and work trips
The recorded data can be copied from PCM2.1 to a laptop or Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) via the PCM2.1 infrared interface. It can be read in, edited and printed using the accompanying PC software,
After ordering, i.e, entering the part number and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in SAP, the enabling code should be displayed after one day once the VIN is entered in the integrated Porsche Dealer Handling System (IPAS).
IMPORTANT:
It is absolutely essential that you update the PCM2.1 system connection to the Model Level B software for model year 05, see Technical Information Bulletin, Group 9, #13/05 - PCM2.1 Navigation Update'.Model Level B is standard as model year 06.
