Repair descriptions - 911 Carrera with PSM

PSM-specific installation processes from the 911 Carrera (996), for example removal and installation of PSM components, PSM component arrangement and the calibration of the steering angle sensor, are outlined for the 911 Carrera 4 (996).

The processes of changing the brake fluid and bleeding the brake system for vehicles with PSM are outlined for the 911 Carrera 4 (996) and also for the 911 Carrera (996).

PSM allocation

911 Carrera 4 (996)/911 Carrera 4S (996)

PSM (Porsche Stability Management) is installed as standard in the 911 Carrera 4 (996) and 911 Carrera 4S (996).

PSM variants: production launch with PSM 5.3 (control module separate) and as of model year 2000 (Y-range) PSM 5.7 (control module fitted).

911 Carrera (996)

The 911 Carrera (996) is fitted with ABS as standard but does not have PSM. PSM is an available option as of model year 2000 (Y-range).

Only the variant PSM 5.7 (control module fitted) is used.
