Bose Surround Sound System (Optional)
BOSE Surround Sound System (Optional)The BOSE Surround Sound system, from the 911 Carrera Coupe, is available as an option for the first time for a 911 Cabriolet. 12 loudspeakers with a total output of 325 W (13 loudspeakers in the 911 Carerra Coupe) guarantee a first-class sound experience.
Unlike the 911 Carrera Coupe, the low-range speaker that comes with the BOSE Surround Sound system is housed in the bass enclosure with a TSM switching amplifier and is installed on the left-hand side in the passenger's footwell. The implementation of the "Adapt sound to top position" function has also brought about a significant improvement in sound quality. An optimized algorithm has improved the regulating action in all driving conditions for the BOSE AudioPilot function. Particularly when driving with the top open, the acoustic impact remains constant by detecting the top position on the Boxster/S (987) and 911 Carrera/S (997) Cabriolets.
A consistent sound experience is achieved on the new 911 Carrera/S Cabriolet for the various acoustic conditions "Top open/closed" by storing individual data records. A short mute lasting approx. 0.3 seconds is needed in order to perform the automatic, internal changeover of the sound parameters without interference or distortions.
NOTE: The same function intervenes for (de)activating the Surround function. The digital amplifier integrated in the MOST bus, which could be coded previously, can now be programmed. Customer relevant changes in sound, functions, etc. are not connected to this.
