Disassembling And Assembling The Centre Console

Preliminary work
1. Remove centre console. Refer to Removing and installing centre console
2. Remove front ashtray. Refer to Removing and installing front ashtray
3. Remove cover for rear tray. Refer to Removing and installing cover for rear luggage tray
4. Remove cigarette lighter. Refer to Removing and installing cigarette lighter
5. Remove centre console socket. Refer to Removing and installing socket
6. Remove interior monitoring sensor. Refer to Removing and installing interior monitoring sensor

NOTE: Only in the cabriolet.

7. Removing switch for convertible top operation Refer to Scd
8. Remove wire harness for centre console. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for centre console

Disassembling the centre console

Disassembling centre console
1. Unclip fastening nut, check and replace if necessary.






2. Turn over centre console.
3. Unscrew fastening screw -1-. Press in locking tabs -arrow A- and remove insert of locking mechanism -2-.






NOTE: Only in the coupe.

4. Unscrew fastening screws -1- and remove extension -2- from centre console -3-.






5. Loosen adhesive tape -2- and remove filler piece (sound absorber) -1-.






Assembling the centre console

NOTE: Only if replacing the centre console.

1. Remove protective film -1- from bonding point and stick sound absorbent film -2- inside the centre console -3-.






2. Position filler piece (sound absorber) -1- and use commercially available adhesive tape -2- to fix it to the centre console.






NOTE: Only in the coupe.

3. Position extension -2- on centre console -3- and secure with fastening screws -1-.






4. Press in locking mechanism insert -2- until it clicks into place and tighten with fastening screw -1-.






5. Press in fastening nut.






Subsequent work

1. Install wire harness for centre console. Refer to Removing and installing centre console wire harness

NOTE: Only in the cabriolet.

2. Install switch for convertible top operation. Refer to Scd
3. Install interior monitoring sensor. Refer to Removing and installing interior monitoring sensor
4. Install centre console socket. Refer to Removing and installing socket
5. Install cigarette lighter. Refer to Removing and installing cigarette lighter
6. Install cover for rear tray. Refer to Removing and installing cover for rear luggage tray
7. Installing front ashtray. Refer to Removing and installing front ashtray
8. Install centre console. Refer to Removing and installing centre console
