The replacement roof module frame is not a complete roof module. The following procedures must be carried out before installation.

Remove new roof module from the packaging and assemble onto the retaining frame and the transmission jack.

Remove the roof module frame to be replaced from the vehicle. Refer to Removing and installing roof module - Targa.

1. Installing rear windscreen wiper motor
1.1. Refer to Removing and installing rear windscreen wiper motor (sliding roof) - Targa.

2. Installing control module
2.1. Refer to Removing and installing sliding roof control module - Targa.

3. Installing closing aid
3.1. Refer to Removing and installing closing aid - Targa.

4. Installing draught deflector
4.1. Refer to Removing and installing wind deflector - Targa.

INFORMATION: The increased collar -arrow- of the sliding block must always face upwards.

5. Assembling mount at the front left and right







5.1. Insert the sliding block -2- into the mounting plate -1-. Insert mount slide -3- into the sliding block -2-.

6. Installing frame for sliding roof cover
6.1. Refer to Removing and installing frame for sliding roof cover - Targa.

7. Installing electric motor for sun blind
7.1. Refer to Removing and installing electric motor for sliding roof - Targa.
7.2. Refer to Removing and installing electric motor for sliding roof - Targa.

8. Installing lid hinge







8.1. Position lid hinge -4- on roof module frame and tighten with fastening nuts -5-.

9. Installing seal for cover of rear window







9.1. Push seal -6- all the way round the flange of the roof module.

10. Installing seal for the centre joint







10.1. Insert seal for the centre joint -7- into the module frame in -direction of arrow-. The seal must connect on the left and right so that it is flush.

11. Sticking on Nito tape







11.1. Stick the Nito tape all the way round the roof module starting from the centring pegs at the front.

12. Installing roof module

13. Installing cover for sliding roof

14. Installing electric motor for sun blind
14.1. Refer to Removing and installing electric motor for sliding roof sun blind - Targa.

15. Installing rear window cover
15.1. Refer to Removing and installing rear window cover - Targa.

16. Setting the microswitch of the sliding roof > closed <.
16.1. Refer to Removing and installing electric motor for sliding roof - Targa.

17. Setting closing aid
17.1. Refer to Removing and installing closing aid - Targa.
17.2. Refer to Removing and installing closing aid - Targa.

18. Functional inspection
18.1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the diagnostic socket. Switch ignition on.
18.2. Select menu item Targa roof, select menu item actuators, actuate open/close function or actuate rear cover function.
18.3. Read out fault memory. If necessary, proceed according to "0-60 Targa roof diagnosis" in the case of an error entry.

19. Installing linings
