38 CAN: Communication PSM Disturbed

Reception of the CAN messages from the PSM control module is checked.

Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on
- CAN message from PSM control module is not received

Possible fault cause
- CAN bus connection between Tiptronic control module and PSM control module

Affected terminals
Terminal L, H

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- Read out the fault memory of the PSM control module and possibly rectify existing faults before troubleshooting.
- If the fault "39 CAN: DME communication disturbed" exists, there could be an open circuit in the CAN bus between the DME control module and the Tiptronic control module. See Computers and Controls - System Diagnosis - "DTC 39". Testing and Inspection
