Removing And Installing Rod Antenna
Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Remove rear part of right front wheel housing liner.
2. Remove carbon canister.
Removing rod antenna
CAUTION: Voltage peaks can damage the audio system.
- Before unplugging/removing audio components, remove ignition key and switch off audio system.
1. Remove the ignition key and switch off the audio system.
2. Unscrew antenna rod on the antenna base cover.
3. Unscrew fastening nut -B- and remove antenna base cover -A-.
4. Remove -arrow- seal.
5. Take out antenna base downward and pull off both connectors -A and B- from the antenna base.

1. Push both connectors -A and B- onto the antenna base until they are felt to engage. Antenna base connector The seal (arrow) must make contact all the way around on the antenna base cover.
2. Insert antenna base in the cut-out from below. The bar of the antenna base must be inserted in the guide nut -A- while doing so.
3. Insert seal with the locating pins -A- in the holes -B- on the antenna base cover.
INFORMATION: The seal (arrow) must make contact all the way around on the antenna base cover.
4. Position antenna base cover -A- and tighten the fastening nut -B-. - Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ft. lbs.)
5. Screw in antenna rod hand-tight in the antenna base cover.
Reworking
Subsequent work
1. Install carbon canister.
2. Install rear section of front right wheel housing liner
