The handsfree system of the telephone module has been matched to the interior of the Boxster/S (987) and the speech quality further improved. The microphone has been moved from the instrument cluster to the steering column, thereby focusing the directional characteristic more on the driver. The console for the passive receiver (option) has been redesigned and directed more towards the driver's seat for more convenient operation.

Preparation for Mobile Telephone

As in the past, a preparatory set-up for use of a mobile telephone is optionally available in conjunction with the standard radio. Specifically for the USA, a preparatory set-up for a mobile telephone will also be available for the new PCM. The preparatory mobile phone set-up comprises the antenna, which is installed in the radiator tank in front of the windshield, the basic cabling, the microphone for the handsfree function, the VDA interface for adaptation of the upgrade kit and an attachment console for the telephone holder. A authorized Porsche dealer will be able to retrofit the upgrade kit for the specific type of telephone in use.
