Information:
Since approx. mid-April 2005 a new system level software release (Model Level B) was introduced as standard equipment for PCM 2.1 and DVD navigation unit. This release includes changes to both the PCM2.1 head unit hardware and the DVD navigation unit hardware as well as the software for both components.

The Navigation DVD required for this software release is labeled "04.2005" and comes with the vehicle (since approx. mid-April 2005).

Attention!
Incompatibility of hardware and software for PCM2.1 and navigation unit with previous versions.

> The Navigation DVD that is used with the software update (Model Level B) must be 04.2005 or higher. This is indicated on the disc itself. This map disc is not compatible with previous navigation units nor previous PCM2.1 units since they do not have the appropriate hardware or software. A Technical Information bulletin detailing the PCM2.1 update mill be issued shortly.

> The Navigation discs used for the earlier software levels, Model Level A (Date label 04.2004/08.2004/10.2004) are incompatible with the new software and should not be used in Model Level B navigation units (installed in vehicles since Mid-April 2005).

> In both cases, Model Level A or Model Level B, the software mill detect and prevent an inadvertent or forced update (compatibility check).

> Use either all Model Level A or all Model Level B parts in one vehicle only - do not attempt to mix them!
