NOTE: The transmission is filled with 3 Qt. (2.8 liters) of SAE 75W90 transmission oil.

The transmission is bolted directly onto the engine. The transmission is mounted at an appropriate distance from the exhaust system, in order to protect it from the radiant heat. The surface of the transmission housing is additionally provided with cooling ribs in order to ensure proper heat exchange.

NOTE: The table shows standard reference values based on an average effective rolling radius. Deviations due to tire tolerance, changes to the rolling radius, wear and tire slip have not yet been taken into account.

The new Boxster S (987) model has the same ratio spread as the previous model year Boxster S (986). However, the larger wheels and approx. 5 % larger rolling circumference (rear) on the new models mean that the individual gear transmission levels have had to be reduced accordingly by 5 %. This design results in a sporty setup for the new models and enables high performance with optimum exploitation of the engine torque and the maximum output.
