Fault Code 2087

Fault code 2087

Corner-sensitive headlight bulb, right

NOTE: This fault can also be caused by a faulty fuse. Given this, it is advisable to check the fuse first before starting to check the wiring and components.

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal control module function test
- Corner-sensitive headlight must be coded
- Right corner-sensitive headlight on/off

The output is only monitored when the corner-sensitive headlight is either 0 % or 100 % activated. When terminal 15 is switched on, diagnosis of 100 % brightness of the corner-sensitive headlight is activated (the very short activation time is not perceptible to the human eye); afterwards, the output is monitored cyclically.

Possible causes of fault
- 'Short circuit to B+' Continuous lighting of corner-sensitive headlight bulb can only be diagnosed when corner-sensitive headlight is switched off.
- 'Short circuit to ground' Absent lighting of corner-sensitive headlight bulb can only be diagnosed when corner-sensitive headlight is switched on.
- 'Open circuit /short circuit to B+ ' Continuous lighting of headlight bulb with 'short circuit to B+', can only be diagnosed when corner-sensitive headlight is switched on.
- 'Open circuit /short circuit to B+ ' Absent lighting of headlight bulb with 'circuit break', can only be diagnosed when corner-sensitive headlight is switched on.

Affected pins
Plug 'D' on vehicle electrical system control module:
- Pin 2 'output to right corner-sensitive headlight'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- Before replacing the control module, the ground connections, power supply and plug connections on the control module must be checked.
- When replacing the vehicle electrical system control module, observe the coding of the control module.
- After the test drive, read out the fault memory with the 9588 Porsche System Tester II again. Additional causes of faults that could damage the vehicle electrical system control module should be detected and remedied.
