Installing Wiring Harness For Engine (V6)

Overview







Installing wire harness for engine (V6)







1. Clip line to valve cover.
1.1. Position wire harness on the engine.
1.2. Insert wire harness in the clip -Arrow A-, then close clip -Arrow B- until the locking tabs -C- are felt to engage.
1.3. Place line in installation position -Arrows D- and close clips -Arrows E- until locking tabs are felt to engage.







2. Combination valve for secondary air system: Push on vacuum hose and fasten ground strap.
2.1. Push on the vacuum hose -arrow-.
2.2. Tighten ground strap with fastening screw -6-. Tightening torque 6 ftlb.







3. Push connectors on camshaft adjusters and run-on pump.
3.1. Push connector onto run-on pump -1- -Arrow A- until locking tab -B- is felt to engage.
3.2. Push both connectors on the outlet -2- and inlet -3- camshaft adjusters -Arrows C- until locking tabs -D- are felt to engage.







4. Fasten wire harness at rear of cylinder head.
4.1. Push connector onto switch-over valve for run-on pump -1- -Arrow A- until locking tab -B- is felt to engage.
4.2. Push connectors on the sensors for the inlet -2- and outlet -3- camshafts -Arrows C- until locking tabs -D- are felt to engage.
4.3. Push clamps and wire harness on the bracket -Arrow E- and secure with fastening nuts -5-. Tightening torque 6 ftlb.







5. Clip in cable duct.
5.1. Connect the line for the fuel injectors to the fuel distributor pipe -Arrow A- and press it into the brackets -Arrows B- until the locking tabs -C- are felt to engage.







6. Push connectors on fuel injectors.
6.1. Push connectors onto the fuel injectors -Arrows A- until the locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







7. Push connectors on secondary air valve, intake manifold change-over switch and temperature sensor.
7.1. Push connectors on secondary air valve -a-, intake manifold change-over switch -b- and temperature sensor -c- -Arrows A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







8. Unclip line along right water tube.
8.1. Lay the line along the water tube -Arrow A- and press it into the bracket -Arrow B-.







9. Push connector onto left knock sensor.
9.1. Push connector onto left knock sensor -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.







10. Push connector onto air-conditioning compressor.
10.1. Push connector onto air-conditioning compressor -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.







11. Push on connectors for oil pressure and crankshaft sensors.
11.1. Push on connector for oil pressure switch -a- and crankshaft sensor -b- -Arrows A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







12. Push connector onto generator.
12.1. Push connector onto generator -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.

13. Install intake-air distributor.
14. Install guide for oil dipstick.







15. Connect engine ventilation.
15.1. Place right ignition lead -Arrow A- in installation position.
15.2. Push on engine breather hose -Arrow B- until the circlip -C- is felt to engage.







16. Fasten wiring duct on left of the intake-air distributor.
16.1. Place right wiring duct in installation position and press into the brackets -Arrows A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







17. Fasten line to the left bar ignition modules.
17.1. Insert wiring duct into the bracket -Arrow A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.
17.2. Insert left bar ignition modules into clips -Arrow C-.
17.3. Close clips -Arrow D- until locking tabs are felt to engage.







18. Fasten wiring duct on left of the intake-air distributor.
18.1. Place left wiring duct in installation position and press into the brackets -Arrows A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







19. Fasten line to the right bar ignition modules.
19.1. Insert right bar ignition modules into clips -Arrow C-.
19.2. Close clips -Arrow D- until locking tabs are felt to engage.







20. Push on connectors for bar ignition modules.
20.1. Push connector onto the ignition coils -Arrow A- until the locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







21. Push connector onto throttle adjuster.
21.1. Push connector onto throttle adjuster -Arrow A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.
21.2. Push line and retaining clip onto throttle adjuster -Arrow C-.







22. Push connector onto switch-over valve for engine ventilation.
22.1. Insert the connector -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.







23. Plug in left knock sensor and fasten line on front of cylinder head.
23.1. Place line in the installation position -Arrows A-.
23.2. Insert socket into holder -Arrow B-.
23.3. Push on connector -Arrow C- until the locking tab -D- is felt to engage.
23.4. Secure line with clips -Arrows E-.







24. Fasten breather hose to front axle.
24.1. Insert breather hose into bracket -Arrow A- and close clip -Arrow B-.







25. Fasten line to oil level sensor.
25.1. Insert line into bracket -Arrows A- and close clips -Arrow B-.







26. Push connector onto oil level sensor.
26.1. Push connector onto oil level sensor -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.







27. Fasten electric lines to starter.
27.1. Attach line to threaded bolt -Arrow A- and secure with fastening nut -4-. Tightening torque 4.5 ftlb.
27.2. Connect the line to the B+ connection -Arrow B- and secure with the fastening nut -3-. Tightening torque 11 ftlb.
27.3. Place protection cap on the B+ connection -Arrow C-.







28. Fit protection cap on starter.
28.1. Place heat shield around solenoid switch -Arrows A- and fasten with the snap fasteners -B-.







29. Fasten wire harness in plenum panel on right.
29.1. Place line in installation position -Arrow A- and insert rubber sleeve in plenum panel -Arrow B-.
29.2. Fix line and clip in bracket -Arrow C-.
29.3. Fasten line together with retaining clips on threaded bolt -Arrows D-.
29.4. Fit rubber seal in area -a- to the plenum panel. -Arrow E-.







30. Push connector onto DME control module and fasten ground straps.
30.1. Fit ground strap together with the twist lock on the threaded bolt -Arrow A- bolt and screw down with the fastening nut -2-. Tightening torque 6 ftlb.
30.2. Push connector onto DME control module -Arrow C- and press in the lock -Arrow D- until it is felt to engage.







31. Fasten wire harness in plenum panel on the left.
31.1. Insert line in the clips -Arrow A- and close clips until the locking tabs are felt to engage -Arrow B-.







32. Insert lines for relay carrier in plenum panel E-box.
32.1. Insert connectors -Arrows A-.
32.2. Push plug connection together -Arrows B-.
32.3. Insert rubber sleeve into relay carrier -Arrow C-.







33. Install cover for relay carrier in the plenum chamber E-box.
33.1. Screw down lid with fastening screws -1-.







34. Install intake hose with air cleaner cover.
34.1. Push in breather hose -Arrow A- until locking tabs -B- are felt to engage.







35. Push on connector for air flow sensor and fasten air cleaner cover.
35.1. Insert the air cleaner.
35.2. Connect intake hose to throttle housing -Arrow A-.
35.3. Fit cover of air cleaner housing -Arrow B- and fasten with retaining clips -Arrows C-.
35.4. Tighten the clamp -D-.







36. Push on connector for air flow sensor.
36.1. Push on connector -Arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.







37. Install engine cover and engine compartment cover.
37.1. Push on engine cover -Arrow A- until locking tabs are felt to engage.
37.2. Fit covers -Arrows B- and secure with fixing clips -a-.

38. Fit cowl panel cover.
39. Install engine guard.
40. Connect the battery.
