Troubleshooting with no control module connected

NOTE: The 9588 Porsche System Tester II and the 'off-road stabiliser control module' are not connected.

Overview

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- The fuses of the 'off-road stabiliser control module' are OK
- The fuses of the 'gateway' in the instrument cluster are OK
- Battery voltage is OK
- Plug on 'off-road stabiliser control module' attached correctly

Possible cause of fault
- Incorrect vehicle type selected in 9588 Porsche System Tester II
- 9588 Porsche System Tester II is not connected correctly or is faulty
- Power supply of 'off-road stabiliser control module' is not OK
- 'Gateway' in instrument cluster does not function
- 'CAN drive' does not function
- 'Off-road stabiliser control module' does not function

Affected pins
Off-road stabiliser control module, plug A:
- Pin 1 'terminal 30 voltage (electric hydraulic pump) via fuse F14 in back-up fuse holder'

Off-road stabiliser control module, plug B:
- Pin 7 'terminal 15 voltage via fuse F49 in fuse carrier at left of dashboard'
- Pin 22 'terminal 30 voltage via fuse F23 in fuse carrier at left of dashboard'
- Pin 23 'ground for body ground point 41'
- Pin 1 'CAN drive (high)'
- Pin 3 'CAN drive (low)'






Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected 'pins' on the plug connections are neither damaged nor corroded. Remove any soiling or corrosion/oxidation and replace damaged parts/wires.

NOTE:
Control unit replacement: Before replacing a control module, the ground connections, power supply and plug connections on the control module must be checked. After the test drive, read out the fault memory again with the 9588 Porsche System Tester II. Additional causes of faults that could damage the control module should be detected and remedied.
