Subsequent enabling

Information:

The compass is an optional module for PCM2 and can be enabled by entering a code. Once the compass has been enabled successfully, the direction in which the vehicle is moving is displayed in the multi-function display.





After ordering, i.e. entering the part number and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in SAP, the enabling code should be displayed (allow at least one business day) once the VIN is entered in the Integrated Porsche Dealer Handling System (IPAS).

Work Procedure:

1. Connect battery charger. See Workshop Manual "90 Battery trickle charge"

2. Code compass in PCM 2.1.

2.1 Connect PIWIS Tester and switch on ignition.

2.2 Select vehicle type "Cayenne and control unit "PCM2.1". Press [F12] to continue.

2.3 Select "PCM2 MMI" in the Cayenne PCM2.1 function selection. Press [F12] to continue.

2.4 Select "Coding" in the PCM2.1 MMI function selection. Press [F12] to continue.

2.5 Select "Enabling code" in the Cayenne PCM2.1 MMI Coding function selection. Press [F12] to continue.

2.8 Enter enabling code. Code with [F8]. Wait until the message "Coding has been changed" appears.

2.7 Press [F11] to exit the PCM2.1 menu.

2.8 Read out fault memory and erase it if necessary.

2.9 Switch off ignition and disconnect PIWIS Tester.

3. Disconnect battery charger.

4. Carry out a function test, see "Multi-function display" chapter in the Owner's Manual.
