Shaking in the Steering Wheel - Cayenne Turbo w/ Increased Performance

Situation:

Complaint about "shaking in the steering wheel."

Cayenne Turbo vehicles produced up to February 28, 2005 and equipped at the factory with Servotronic steering gear (I No. 1N3) and increased performance (I No. E81) were not equipped with the modified Servotronic steering gear designed for these vehicles. See VIN list shown below.

Action required:

If you receive a customer complaint "Shake in steering wheel" on one of these vehicles and on vehicles that have already been retrofitted for increased performance in the dealer organization, see --> Technical Information 'Increased performance for Cayenne Turbo (I No. E87)', you must replace the installed Servotronic steering gear with the modified Servotronic steering gear and replace the installed Servotronic control unit with the modified control unit as well as carrying out the usual remedial actions, e.g. balancing or fine balancing the wheels (see Technical Information bulletin Group 4, Nr. 1/05).
