Preliminary work
1. Remove cushion carrier for front backrest.

NOTE: Only for vehicles with adaptive sports seats.

2. Remove left air cushion for backrest.

Removing motor for lumbar support

Removing support for left backrest side part






1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- and remove support for backrest side part -2-.






Taking off foam part






1. Remove foam part -1- at the headrest.






Removing motor for lumbar support
1. Pull the white hose -1- off the control valve for lumbar support -2-.






2. Pull the white hose -1- out of the backrest frame -2-.






3. Release plug connection -1- (-arrow a-) and disconnect it -arrows B-.






4. Take motor for lumbar support -2- out of the backrest frame (-arrow C-) and pull the hose -3- along with the motor out of the backrest frame -arrow D-.

Installing motor for lumbar support
1. Push hose -3- into the backrest frame -arrow A- and insert motor for lumbar support -2- into the backrest frame -arrow B-.






2. Push plug connection -1- together -arrows C- until it engages securely.
3. Lay the white hose -1- on the backrest frame -2-.






4. Push the white hose -1- onto the control valve for lumbar support -2-.






Checking seat following removal
1. Connect the removed seat to the vehicle's wiring harness via test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.
2. Connect electric plug to control module trim panel.
3. Connect the battery.
4. Switch on ignition.
5. Carry out a function check on the seat components.
6. Switch off ignition after function test and disconnect battery.
7. Disconnect test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.

Fitting foam part

NOTE:
- Observe the installation position of the hoses.
- Make sure that the hoses are not pinched. Insert hoses exactly into the cut-outs on the foam part.

1. Fit foam part -1- at the headrest.






Installing support for left backrest side part

NOTE:
- Observe hose routing.
- In vehicles with lumbar support, make sure the hoses are routed correctly in the area of the backrest side support.

1. Insert support for backrest side part -2- and secure with the four fastening screws -1-.






2. Route wire harness for airbag -1- as shown behind the backrest side part support -2-.






Subsequent work
1. Install right air cushion for backrest.
2. Install cushion carrier for front backrest.
