Removing auxiliary stop light in rear centre panel
Preliminary work for auxiliary brake light in rear centre panel
Remove rear centre panel.

Releasing connector with screwdriver:
1. Raise rear centre panel away from the vehicle, release the electric connector using a small screwdriver -A- and unplug it.
2. Turn the rear centre panel over and set it down on a suitable protective base.
Releasing fastening clips:
3. The auxiliary brake light is clipped into the rear centre panel six times in total. Starting from the outside, put your finger through the openings in the rear centre panel and release the clips from behind -A-. At the same time, release the clips from the front using the screwdriver -B- and pull the ends of the auxiliary brake light carefully out of the rear centre panel.
Pushing left and right locking mechanisms together with a screwdriver:
4. Push the two locking mechanisms for the auxiliary brake light (centre) together with a screwdriver and pull the brake light out of the rear centre panel.

1. Remove the spoiler.
Removing auxiliary brake light:
2. Insert a screwdriver through the openings in the rear spoiler from below, press the locking mechanism -B- for the auxiliary brake light together -A- and carefully pull out the brake light.
3. Repeat the procedure on the other side if necessary.
4. Release the electric plug connection -C- and disconnect it from the brake light.

1. Open the convertible top compartment lid fully.
2. Pass the disassembly tool disassembly aid 9707 through the openings in the convertible-top compartment lid and guide the disassembly tool onto the retaining clips of the auxiliary stop light with the finger.
Release retaining clips with special tool:
3. Unclip the retaining clips in turn -1 - 6-.
Moving the stop light:
4. Carefully pull out the auxiliary stop light in the area of the outer retaining clips and slowly push to the left.
5. The auxiliary stop light then disengages on the right side of the convertible-top compartment lid and you can now remove it easily to the right.
Releasing electric plug connection:
6. Release electric plug connection -A- and pull it off the auxiliary stop light.

NOTE: Check the six clips on the auxiliary brake light for damage. If the brake light holders are damaged, the light must be replaced.
Inserting brake light:
1. Position the auxiliary brake light in the rear centre panel and carefully clip it into the rear centre panel, starting from the centre out.
2. Check that the auxiliary brake light is fitted securely.
Plugging in connector:
3. Connect the electric plug connection to the auxiliary brake light until it clicks into place.

Installing auxiliary brake light:
1. Plug electric plug connection -A- into the auxiliary brake light until the connector is felt to engage.
2. Insert brake light into the centre of the opening in the rear spoiler and press into place -C-.
3. Check that the brake light is fitted securely in the rear spoiler by pulling it gently -B-.
Installing auxiliary stop light in convertible top compartment lid
1. Connect the electric plug connection to the auxiliary brake light until it clicks into place.
2. Position the auxiliary stop light on the convertible-top compartment lid and carefully clip it in, from the centre outwards.
Clipping auxiliary stop light into the convertible-top compartment lid:
3. Check auxiliary stop light is secure and in working order.
4. Close the convertible-top compartment lid.
