Removing engine compartment light

ATTENTION:
Danger of damage to property if bulbs are used or handled incorrectly.
- Risk of damage to bulbs and bulb housing.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- To prevent short circuits, the load in question must be switched off while changing bulbs.
- Only bulbs specified in the bulb table may be used.
- Bulbs with a higher wattage may damage the bulb housing.
- New bulbs must be clean and free of grease. Therefore, never touch the bulbs with your bare hands. Use a cloth or soft paper when changing bulbs.
- In certain states, it is compulsory to carry spare light bulbs.


Engine compartment light overview:




Disengaging wiring harness on blower motor housing:






1. Disengage wiring harness on blower motor housing.


Removing engine compartment light:






2. Press engine compartment light carefully out of the blower motor housing at the cutout -arrow- using a screwdriver.
3. Pull off plug on engine compartment light and remove engine compartment light.

Removing bulb for light:






1. Remove defective bulb from between the contact springs.

NOTE: Only use the relevant bulb specified in the bulb table.


Installing bulb for light:






1. Insert new bulb into the contact springs.

Installing engine compartment light:






1. Attach plug on engine compartment light.
2. Press engine compartment light into the blower motor housing.

3. Engage wiring harness on blower motor housing.
