Wheels and Tyres/Tyre Pressure

Wheels and tyres/tyre pressure

Wheels, tyres: visual inspection for damage
Check tyres for sufficient tread depth, foreign bodies, pricks, cracks and bulges in the sidewall (ply breakage). Check age of the tyres. Replace tyres if necessary.

Checking wheel mounting
Use suitable commercially available tools (wrench size 19 mm) together with a tested torque wrench, covering the range up to 130 Nm (96 ft lb.). Never use an impact bolter.

Do not undo the wheel bolts to check whether they are secure. Tighten the wheel bolts to 130 Nm (96 ft lb.) and check that they fit securely.

Tyre pressure for cold tyres; (approximately 20 Degrees C)

DANGER: Tyre damage due to insufficient tyre pressure in conjunction with driving at high speeds, due to tyres that are too old and/or tyres which do not meet Porsche requirements.
Increased risk of accidents.
Adjust the tyre pressure according to specifications. Never allow the pressure to fall below the minimum pressure.
Carry out a visual inspection and check tyre age. Replace tyres older than 6 years.
Use only tyres recommended by Porsche.

Note:
Valve caps protect the valve from dust and dirt and therefore from leaks! Always screw caps tight and replace any missing caps.

For repairs in the event of damage, observe without fail the safety and operating instructions !

The chart of tyres and wheels for summer and winter should be taken from Technical Information (TI) Group 4!

When replacing summer tyres, pay close attention to the tyre specification number! The specification characters N1, N2, N3 or NO distinguish the summer tyres specially authorized by Porsche from other models of the same tyre type and size!

Notes on Mounting tyres
When fitting tyres, the direction of rotation and the inner and outer sides should be noted!
If there are no mounting instructions on the tyre sidewall, the tyre must be mounted so that the DOT code is visible from the outside.
