Installing anti-roll bar

The 911 GT2 (997) anti-roll bar can be installed on the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS (997) (different diameters).

Anti-roll bar diameter (installed as standard): 911 GT3/GT3 RS = 23.6 x 3.5 mm (0.93 x 0.14 inches)/911 GT2 = 25.2 x 4.4 mm (0.99 x 0.17 inches).

1. Install rear anti-roll bar.

Always tighten the connecting links (suspension/stabilizers) in three steps (Step 1: tighten to 50 Nm (37 ftlb.). Step 2: loosen by 90 degrees. Step 3: tighten to 65 Nm (48 ftlb.))!

On 911 GT vehicles (adjustable anti-roll bar), check the position of the connecting links (suspension/stabilizer) at the anti-roll bar (GT3/GT3 RS/GT2). Figure shows the position -2-.

Adjustable rear anti-roll bar (911 GT vehicles)

1.1. Engage anti-roll baron the connecting links (suspension/stabilizer) -2- and then secure on the rear axle carrier using two hexagon-head bolts -1- on each. - Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.).

1.2. Fit new M10 collar nuts on the connecting link joint -2-. Counter with a Torx socket-wrench insert when tightening. Observe 3-step tightening procedure.

Step 1: - Initial tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)

Step 2: - Loosen by 1/4 turn after initial tightening: Loosen by 90 degrees

Step 3: Tighten to 65 Nm (48 ftlb.). - Final tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
