Removing
Removing drive belt

WARNING: Do not remove the drive belt when the engine is warm!
^ Risk of damage or deformation!
^ Drive belts should only be removed when they have cooled down.

1. Turn the tensioning pulley on the hexagonal axle clockwise and simultaneously remove the belt from the deflection pulleys.

Note:
^ To check drive belt for damage by the naked eye, it needs to have been removed.
^ Mark running direction of drive belt with a colored pen.
^ Even minor damage means that the drive belt must be replaced (even if the maintenance interval has not expired).

2. Take the drive belt off the belt pulleys and give it a detailed inspection. Examine it to see if it has picked up foreign bodies, cracks or other damage and replace if necessary.
