NOTE:
The specification given in --> Workshop Manual '690000 Safety regulations for handling airbag and belt tensioner units' must be followed.
NOTE:
ONLY vehicles up to and including MY'08:
The new installation location of the belt fitting (changed from door sill in area of B-pillar to the sports bucket seat) means that the standard 3-point belt on the sports bucket seat must be modified or replaced as described in Step 6.
A new standard 3-point belt, with a different position for the plastic rivet in the belt strap, will be used from MY'09. This 3-point belt will not have to be modified or replaced.

- Leather cover; color: black
Longitudinal seat adjustment is carried out manually. Further adjustment possibilities (seat height, lumbar support, seat and backrest angle) are not possible. The "seat heating" functions is not available with the sports bucket seat.
For vehicles with the "seat memory" equipment, only the mirror memory is retained after installing a sports bucket seat.
Seats can be retrofitted separately or as a pair (driver's and passenger's side).

The seat-side connection for the AWS (Automatic Weight System) control unit can be ignored.
The automatic weight sensing system is deactivated.
3.2 ONLY for USA/Canada passenger's seat as of MY'06:
Calibrate AWS control unit --> Workshop manual '6968K200 Calibrating AWS control unit'.
4. Program required installed components lists for vehicle electrical system and gateway.
This may differ, depending on the seat version (standard seat - I-no.369, fully electric seat - I-no. P15, sports seat - I-no.P77 or adaptive sports seat - I-no.P01). It is assumed here that the maximum equipment version is installed (fully electric seat or adaptive sports seat).
4.1 Connect PIWIS Tester PIWIS Tester 9718 and switch on ignition.
4.2 Select "Vehicle type". Press >> to continue.
4.3 Program vehicle electrical system.
4.3.1 Switch to the "VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM coding" menu. Press >> to continue.
4.3.2 Select "Left seat heating - yes" or "Right seat heating - yes", Press >> to continue.
4.3.3 Change existing state of "yes" to "no" and code with F8.
If retrofitting both sports bucket seats, repeat step for the second seat.
4.4 Program gateway.
4.4.1 Switch to the "GATEWAY coding" menu. Press >> to continue.
4.4.2 Select "Seat adjustment memory - installed". Press >> to continue.
4.4.3 Change existing state of "installed" to "not installed" and code with F8
4.4.4 ONLY if both sports bucket seats, left and right, have been retrofitted:
Select "Seat heating - installed" from the "GATEWAY coding" menu. Press >> to continue.
4.4.5 Change existing state of "installed" to "not installed" and code with F8.
5. Concluding work
5.1 Switch on vehicle ignition.
5.2 Perform the "Seat belt warning light" function test.
5.2.1 Seat belt warning light in instrument cluster must light up.
5.2.2 Insert belt tongue of driver's side 3-point belt into the driver's side seat-belt buckle.
5.2.3 Seat belt warning light in instrument cluster must go out.

5.3.2 LED(s) in the "Seat heating" button for the sports bucket seat(s) must not light up.
LED in the "Seat heating" button for remaining standard seat must light up.
NOTE:
Pressing either of the two "Seat heating" buttons will generate a fault entry in the "Vehicle electrical system" fault memory for the particular seat with disabled seat heating. This cannot be deleted using the PIWIS Tester.
The GATEWAY is switched to the idle state if the vehicle is not used for some time or the battery is disconnected,. A self-check of the GATEWAY is performed after connecting the battery or switching on the ignition, which results in the fault entry/entries regarding the "Seat heating" being deleted.
Consequently, the fault entry in the "Vehicle electrical system" fault memory can be ignored.
5.4 Read out control units for all systems, correct any existing faults, and then erase the fault memory.
6. ONLY vehicles up to and including MY'08:
Modify or replace 3-point belt.
6.1 Carefully insert plastic spatula, e.g. from Wielander + Schill (article no.0704 --> Figure 3 -A-), between the bottom part of the plastic rivet and the belt strap.
6.2 Carefully press plastic spatula along the belt until the bottom part of the plastic rivet springs off upwards (--> Figure 3).
6.3 Remove top part of plastic rivet out of the belt strap.
6.4 Remove pressure mark and hole in belt strap as best you can by rubbing between your thumb and index finger.
6.5 Inspect the belt strap for damage caused by removing the plastic rivet.
6.5.1 If belt strap is damaged:
Replace 3-point belt with a new 3-point belt from a GT2 (part no.: see Porsche Electronic parts Catalog - PET) --> Workshop Manual '691119 Removing and installing front three-point belt'.
6.5.2 If belt strap is not damaged:
Hold belt tongue (--> Figure 4 -A-) in former position of plastic rivet and place clamping piece (--> Figure 4 -B-) approx. 10 cm below this on the belt strap, fold it over (--> Figure 4 -arrow-) and clip it in.
