Telephone Module (optional)

With the introduction of the 911 Carrera/S Cabriolet also comes a new fixed tri-band phone module for GSM 900/1800 and GSM 1900 networks for the sports car model range (dualband GSM 900/1800 was used previously). As a result, a new fixed telephone module is available for the USA/Canada (not 9 x 6 models). The transmission power has now been reduced from 8 to 2 watts.

The following functions have also been improved:

- Optimized hands particularly at the start of a call.
- The maximum connection with PCM 2.1 has been increased to over 400 (412 entries).
- New way of of coding the phone using the PIWIS Tester:
- The hands-free function must be adapted to suit the vehicle type (vehicle type coding).
- The telephone band must be coded correctly as shown below:
USA- GSM 1900
Europa - GSM 900/1800

NOTE: The functions and connectors of the new telephone module are compat-ible and the telephone module can be used as a spare part. Since the antenna connection has been changed, an adapter cable is needed for the 9 x 6 models. This can be ordered from the parts department.
