WM 390955 Eliminating transmission symptoms - replacing differential

Symptom
Leak in transmission close to right and left halfshaft flanges

Causes and remedial action

Cause:
Increased axial play of the halfshaft flanges can allow dirt to penetrate between the halfshaft flanges and radial shaft seals. This can increase the wear on the sealing lips, which can result in leaks over time.

Remedial action:
Replace the differential, sealing rings and halfshaft flanges. The differential must be re-adjusted as a result.
