Replacing Roll-Over Bar



Replacing Roll-over Bar

Preliminary work

1. Remove hood. Refer to Removing and installing cabriolet hood
2. Remove trim panel for roll-over bar. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for roll-over bar

Disassembling roll-over bar

Removing water drip pan

1. Detach water drip pan close to the hood support fastening point -arrows-.







2. On the roll-over bar -1-, pull off the two strips of double-sided adhesive tape -2- close to the hood support fastening point.







3. Remove adhesive residue using cleaning solution.

Removing rubber stop and latches

1. Drill out the blind rivet -1- on the trim -2- using a 5-mm drill bit. Remove the trim -arrow-.







2. Detach rubber buffer -1- at the lower part of the rubber stop -2-.







3. Drill out the blind rivet -1- on the lower part of the rubber stop -2 - using a 5-mm drill bit. Remove lower part of rubber stop -arrow-.







4. Drill out the blind rivet -1- on the latch for the centre part of the wind deflector -2- using a 5-mm drill bit. Latch for centre part of wind deflector -arrow-







Removing wiring harness for rear window heating at roll-over bar

1. Release central connector at the top with retaining clip -1- at the roll-over bar -2- in -direction of arrow A- and remove it -arrow B-.







2. Unclip retaining clip -3- for wiring harness at the roll-over bar -arrow C-.
3. Release central connector at the bottom with retaining clip -1- at the roll-over bar -2- in -direction of arrow A- and remove the wiring harness -arrow B-.







Assembling roll-over bar

Installing wiring harness for rear window heating on the roll-over bar

1. Insert the central connector at the top with retaining clip -1- and wiring harness on the roll-over bar -2- from the inside -arrow A- and lock by turning it to the right -arrow B-.







2. Press in retaining clip -3- for wiring harness on the roll-over bar -arrow C-.
3. Insert the central connector at the bottom with retaining clip -1- and wiring harness on the roll-over bar -2- from the outside -arrow A- and lock by turning it to the right -arrow B-.







Installing rubber stop and latches

INFORMATION: Only use blind rivets from the parts package.

1. Fit lower part of rubber stop -1- on the roll-over bar -2- from the rear, position correctly and secure with a blind rivet -3-.







2. Insert rubber buffer -1- at the lower part of the rubber stop -2-.







3. Fit trim -1- on the lower part of the rubber stop -2- ( -arrow- ) until the latches engage securely.







INFORMATION: Only use blind rivets from the parts package.

4. Position trim -1- and secure with a blind rivet -3-.

INFORMATION: Only use blind rivets from the parts package.

5. Place latch for centre part of wind deflector -1- on the roll-over bar -2-, position correctly and secure with a blind rivet -3-.







Installing water drip pan

INFORMATION: The double-sided adhesive tape is used to make the water drip pan more secure.

1. On the roll-over bar -1-, affix two strips of double-sided adhesive tape -2- close to the hood support fastening point.







2. Fit water drip pan -1- on the roll-over bar -2- ( -arrows- ) and position it at the hole pattern on the hood support fastening point.







3. Press water drip pan onto the two strips of double-sided adhesive tape close to the hood support fastening point -arrows-.







Subsequent work

1. Install trim panel for roll-over bar. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for roll-over bar
2. Install hood. Refer to Removing and installing cabriolet hood
