Preliminary work

INFORMATION: Drain the lumbar support before removing the front seat.

1. Remove front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat
2. Position front seat on assembly fixture.







3. Remove cover for front centre backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front centre backrest
4. Remove cover for backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for backrest
5. Remove control button for backrest release at right and left. Refer to Removing and installing control button for backrest release

Preliminary work

INFORMATION: The air cushions and lumbar support must be deflated before removing the front seat.

1. Remove front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat
2. Position front seat on assembly fixture.







3. Remove cover for front centre backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front centre backrest

Removing cover for front backrest







1. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove coat hook -1-.







2. Insert a plastic wedge between the backrest cover -1- and the collar -2- and unclip collar.







3. Press out cover for backrest -1- from the cushion carrier -2- lower left and right using a screwdriver -3-.







4. Press out cover piping -1- right and left from backrest frame -2-.







5. Remove side airbag. Refer to Removing and installing side airbag
6. Slightly loosen connection of backrest cover -1- from frame for side airbag -2- with a screwdriver -3- and pull out all around by hand.







7. Press out cover for backrest -1- from the cushion carrier -2- lower left and right using a screwdriver -3- -Arrows A-.







8. Pull out cover for backrest -1- all around by hand from the rear of the cushion carrier -2- -Arrows B-.
9. Fold cover piping -1- at the sides right and left in direction of arrow.







10. Press plastic strip -2- on cover for backrest -1- out of the fixing clips -3-.







11. Remove cover for backrest -1-.







Removing guide for seat belt

1. Remove guide for seat belt -1- at top -Arrow A-.







2. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove push button -3- -Arrow B-.
3. Press out cap -2- and unscrew fastening screw -3- with spacer -4-.







4. Remove guide for seat belt -1- and sleeve -5-.

Removing cover for front backrest







1. Press out cover for backrest -1- from the backrest shell -2- lower left and right using a screwdriver -3-.







2. Slightly loosen cover for backrest -1- at outside of backrest shell -2-, starting from the bottom with a screwdriver -3-, and pull out all around by hand.







3. Press out cover piping -1- right and left from backrest frame -2-.







4. Push out plastic strip -2- on cover for backrest -1- from the fixing clips -3- in direction of arrow -A, B, C-.







5. Remove cover for backrest -1-.

Installing cover for front backrest

Installing cover for backrest







1. Check clamps -1-, and replace if necessary.







2. Pull on cover for backrest -1- and align with contour of padding.







3. Check fastening clip -3-, and replace if necessary.







4. Press plastic strip -2- on cover for backrest -1- into the fixing clips -3-.
5. Fold cover piping -1- at the sides in direction of arrow.







6. Press connection of backrest cover -1- at the rear into the cushion carrier -2- -Arrows A- and tap gently into place (plastic hammer).







7. Engage connection of backrest cover -1- at the bottom into the cushion carrier -Arrows B-.
8. Press connection of backrest cover -1- into the side airbag frame -2- with a plastic wedge -3-.







9. Install side airbag. Refer to Removing and installing side airbag
10. Engage cover piping -1- right and left into backrest frame -2-.







11. Press cover for backrest -1- into the cushion carrier -2- lower left and right using a plastic wedge -3-.







12. Position collar -2- on the backrest cover -1- and press in until it clicks into place.







13. Position coat hook -1- and screw down with the fastening screw -2-.







Installing cover for backrest







1. Fit cover for backrest and align with contour of padding.
2. Check fastening clips -3-, and replace if necessary.







3. Press plastic strip -2- on cover for backrest -1- into the fixing clips -3-.
4. Engage cover piping -1- right and left into backrest frame -2-.







5. Press connection of backrest cover -1- sideways into the backrest frame -2- with a plastic wedge -3-.







6. Press cover for backrest -1- into the backrest shell -2- lower left and right using a screwdriver -3-.







Installing guide for seat belt

INFORMATION: If the backrest cover -1- has been replaced after repairs, the seat-belt guide mounting points must be measured again and marked.







- Mark upper mounting point with the dimensions -A= 95 mm- and -B= 50 mm-.
- Mark lower mounting point with the dimensions -C= 25 mm- and -D= 155 mm-.

1. Position seat-belt guide -1- with sleeve -5- with the aid of the marking on the backrest cover.







2. Tighten fastening screw -3- with spacer -4-.
3. Press in -2- cap
4. Position push button -3- with the aid of the marking on the backrest cover -Arrow A- and screw down with the fastening screw -2-.







5. Press seat-belt guide -1- into push button -3- at top -Arrow B-.

Subsequent work

Removing creases in seat cover (leather)

CAUTION: Risk of damage to cover if excessive heat is applied.
- Creases in cover
- If creases have formed, only short partial warming with the hot-air gun is permissible.
- The hot-air temperature must always be Temperature: 50 degrees C.


1. If creases have formed, partially heat the affected areas of the cover with the hot-air gun and smooth out the cover using the special tool.

Subsequent work

1. Install control button for backrest release at right and left. Refer to Removing and installing control button for backrest release
2. Install cover for backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for backrest
3. Install cover for front centre backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front centre backrest
4. Install front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat

Subsequent work

1. Install cover for front centre backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front centre backrest
2. Install front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat
