Removing And Installing Cover For Front Backrest (Folding Sports Bucket Seat)

Preliminary work

1. Remove sports bucket seat. Refer to Removing and installing folding sports bucket seat
2. Fit sports bucket seat on assembly fixture. Refer to Mounting front seat on assembly fixture
3. Remove top belt strap guide. Refer to Removing and installing belt strap guide (folding sports bucket seat)

Removing cover for front backrest







CAUTION: Risk of damage to backrest shell from fastening clamps.
- Risk of surface damage (scratches).
- Mask the backrest shell with adhesive tape.
- Remove fastening clamps from the cover (joint).


1. Mask the backrest shell -1- in the marked area with adhesive tape -2- (2-3 layers).







2. Pull cover -1- out of the fastening clamps -2- close to the belt strap guide -arrow A-.

If the fastening clamps -2- are also pulled off, remove them from the cover immediately -arrow B-.







3. Fit the removed fastening clamps -2- on the backrest frame.
4. Pull off the cover -1- at the Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- ( -arrows- ).







5. Fold over the cover -1-, starting at the bottom -arrow A- and carefully pull it out of the backrest shell -2- ( -arrows B- ).

If the fastening clamps -3- are also pulled off, remove them from the cover immediately -arrow C-.







6. Fit the removed fastening clamps -3- on the backrest frame.
7. Remove cover -1- and padding -2- from the backrest shell -3- ( -arrows- ).







INFORMATION: Only when replacing the cover.

8. Carefully detach Velcro strip -1- on the cover from the Velcro fastener on the front of the padding -2- ( -arrow- ).







9. Take off the cover -3-.

Installing cover for backrest

1. Check fastening clamps -1- on the outside of the backrest shell and replace them if necessary.







2. Check fastening clamps -1- close to the belt guide and replace them if necessary.







INFORMATION: Only when replacing the cover.

3. Position cover -3- on the front of the padding -2-.







4. Align Velcro strip -1- on the cover with the Velcro fastener on the padding -2- and secure it -arrow-.
5. Position cover -1- and padding -2- on the backrest shell -3- and straighten it -arrows-.







6. Press joint on cover -1- into the backrest shell -2- near the top of the headrest -arrows-.







7. Press joint on cover -1- into the fastening clamps -2- near the belt strap guide -arrows-.







8. Press cover -1- into the backrest shell -2- at the sides -arrows-.







9. Align cover -1- with the side bolsters.







INFORMATION: Make sure the Velcro fasteners join cleanly.

10. Press on Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- ( -arrows- ).
11. Press joint on cover -1- into the backrest shell -2- at the sides using a plastic wedge and secure by tapping gently (with a plastic hammer).







12. Remove adhesive tape -2- from the backrest shell -1-.







Subsequent work

Removing creases in seat cover (leather)

CAUTION: Risk of damage to cover if excessive heat is applied.
- Creases in cover
- If creases have formed, only short partial warming with the hot-air gun is permissible.
- The hot-air temperature must always be Temperature: 50 degrees C.


1. If creases have formed, partially heat the affected areas of the cover with the hot-air gun and smooth out the cover using the special tool.

Subsequent work

1. Install top belt strap guide. Refer to Removing and installing belt strap guide (folding sports bucket seat)
2. Remove sports bucket seat from the assembly fixture and install it. Refer to Removing and installing folding sports bucket seat
