Preliminary work
Preliminary work for power distributor
Disconnect and cover the ground terminal on the battery.
Removing power distributor
Installation Position Shown On The 911:
1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
2. Release the locking mechanism of the B+ line -A- and pull off the B+ connection from the power distributor -B-.
3. Unscrew the two fastening nuts -2-.
4. Unscrew both plastic screws -1- for the cover in the passenger's footwell and remove the cover downwards.

5. Pull the power distributor away from the firewall and lower it down into the passenger's footwell.
Disengage The Power Distributor And Pull It Down And Out:
NOTE: If a new power distributor needs to be installed or a fuse element replaced, then a new cover for the fuse elements (blue) and a new seal label (red) must be fitted. The spare parts are summarised in the PET as a package.
6. Disengage the lock and fold the cover open. Pull off the original seal label -arrow-.
7. Unclip the cover for the fuse elements with a screwdriver.

8. Mark the connection leads to the relevant fuse element.
Unscrewing Fastening Nuts And Removing Fuse Element:
9. Unscrew the fastening nuts -1-, remove the washer -2- and take out the fuse element -3-.
10. Unscrew fastening nut for the B+ line and remove the power distributor.
Installing power distributor
Installing the current distributor
1. Position the fuse elements -3- in the power distributor in accordance with the wiring diagram and position the marked connection leads in turn, fit the washer -2- and tighten with the fastening nuts -1-. Tightening torque 6 ftlb. Tightening torque 11 ftlb.

2. Position the B+ line on the power distributor and tighten with the fastening screws. Tightening torque 11 ftlb.
NOTE: If a new power distributor needs to be installed or a fuse element replaced, then a new cover for the fuse elements (blue) and a new seal label (red) must be fitted. The spare parts are summarised in the PET as a package.
3. Insert the blue cover in power distributor and clip in place.

4. Close the power distributor until the lid is felt to engage and seal with the red seal label.
Closing The Power Distributor And Pushing Upwards:
5. Check the plastic seal on the power distributor for damage; replace it if in doubt.
6. Slide the power distributor upwards between the heater/air-conditioning unit and the bulkhead, and engage in the bulkhead.
7. Screw down power distributor with the two fastening screws -2-. Tightening torque 11 ftlb.

8. Push the B+ of the battery onto the mounting point as far as the stop. Check that the B+ line sits firmly.

Connect the battery and carry out "Work instructions after disconnecting the battery".
